REX Combat Knife by Blade Brothers Knives is designed for the critical moments when distance disappears and decisive action in close-quarters combat becomes essential.

Inspired by the German trench knife of World War I, we made REX for a wide range of battlefield tasks. This tactical knife we produce from 1.4116 stainless steel, hardened to 57 HRC, with a blade thickness of 5 mm. The ergonomic handle features durable ABS scales for a secure grip. Each knife comes with a nylon sheath compatible with MOLLE systems.

The REX combat knife honors the elite assault troopers of the Ukrainian Airborne Forces — fighters so respected by their peers, they’re known simply as “Rexes.” In military slang, “Rex” is more than a nickname. REX stands for Recon Extra Class — a title given to elite assault troopers in the Ukrainian Airborne Forces.  A mark of top-tier skill, versatility, and battlefield leadership.

Among professionals, a Rex is the kind of elite stormtrooper who can operate any weapon, train others, and lead a unit into combat. It’s not a rank you’re given—it’s a reputation you earn. To be called a Rex is to be trusted without question.

Blade Brothers Knives created the REX knife for those who don’t take the easy route. So, it embodies clear decisions, a cold mind, and unquestionable reliability in a critical moment. Its primary function is use in close-quarters combat  and hand-to-hand engagements. We specifically engineered this knife for military personnel.

• REX has a high level of durability and the capacity to deliver and withstand heavy impacts, with a blade thickness of 5 mm.
• The Stonewash finish eliminates glare and hides wear, making it ideal for field use with minimal maintenance.

The REX knife blade is long, narrow, and features a clearly defined dagger profile with a rhomboid cross-section. This structural design ensures:

The penetrating capabilities are significantly reinforced by a pronounced false bevel and false edge. The reinforced tip allows the knife to pierce through modern gear with ease, showing exceptional thrusting capability in close-quarters scenarios.

Unlike classic daggers, the REX blade is universally suitable for cutting due to its construction. The straight bevel at 1/2 of the blade width ensures excellent slicing properties. Also we can made a custom-molded plastic sheath for this knife, providing secure blade retention and reliable carry. The sheath features a removable steel clip compatible with MOLLE systems, allowing for flexible positioning on gear or apparel. Mounting holes are TEK LOK compatible for added versatility. In emergency situations, the knife can be drawn quickly — always ready for action.

• Full-Tang Fixed Blade Construction.
  The knife features a Full-Tang design with a fixed blade, ensuring maximum durability and reliability. The knife material is high-grade 1.4116 stainless steel with a thickness of 5 mm and hardened to 57 HRC. These properties provide the optimal balance between resilience and hardness required for a blade of this purpose. With these steel characteristics, the cutting edge stays sharp for a long time, and the knife can be sharpened easily in the field without special tools. The knife is built to withstand significant stress and intensive use in aggressive environments.
• Dagger Blade Profile and Reinforced Tip.
  We maintained the classic form of a trench knife but added a pronounced false edge (false grind) near the tip. This design significantly enhances the knife’s penetrating capabilities during stabs and thrusts. The knife is capable of piercing modern gear and equipment, making it a reliable weapon in critical situations.
• Straight Grinds for Versatility.
  The blade’s straight bevels (or flat grinds) increase the contact area with the material being cut, while the sharp cutting edge drastically reduces resistance. This type of grind guarantees excellent slicing properties, minimizes the effort required to push the knife through the material, and provides a powerful chopping effect.
• Reliable Sheath.
  The sheath is made of durable nylon, ensuring the knife is securely fixed and retained. It features a loop for convenient mounting on a belt or gear, as well as a MOLLE system interface. This sheath provides easy access to the knife and allows for safe carry during patrols, hikes, or combat operations.
