About the UAV Patch Collection
The war in Ukraine is constantly evolving. What began in 2014 as infantry assaults and artillery duels grew into the street battles, positional warfare, and trench combat of 2022. Today, we are witnessing a new transformation. The era of unmanned systems has arrived—fast, precise, and ruthless.
Modern combat increasingly demands not just courage, but technological superiority. Victory is now won in the skies, where drones have become the primary force for both reconnaissance and destruction.
This series of patches was created by Oleksandr Vorobey, who has participated in infantry assaults since 2014, street battles in 2022, and defensive operations. He now serves within the Unmanned Systems Forces of the AFU. These patches reflect the new reality of drone warfare, which has fundamentally changed the rules of the battlefield.
"I Bring the Thunder"
We dedicated this morale patch to heavy attack drones—the bombers. Bomber Perun represents a devastating force that strikes here and now.
At the center is the god Perun (highest god of the pantheon in Slavic mythology), the lord of thunder and lightning, and the patron of the military. In ancient times, the roar of thunder caused the enemy to tremble, for it signaled Perun's wrath. Today, that wrath has a different sound—the low hum of a heavy attack hexacopter. The precision strikes of our bombers are fiery retribution from the sky. So, the heavy drone, the mortar rounds, and the pilot's skill merge into a single act of military justice.
