At Blade Brothers Knives, we typically design knives for the most demanding environments. But sometimes, the pursuit of functionality evolves into a search for pure aesthetics. The BLACK KNIFE is that moment—where we stepped beyond purely tactical goals to create a blade built not just for work, but for true appreciation.

The BLACK KNIFE combines our signature durability and reliability with the elegance of a collector's piece. The blade's geometry commands attention, promising effortless and precise performance, while the tactile feedback of the materials provides a sense of absolute harmony. Materials and Technology

Creating a premium knife requires a meticulous approach to material selection and craftsmanship. Upon seeing the first finished blade, we knew it demanded exclusively natural materials.

• Steel Selection and Protection
  For the blade, we chose Austrian K110 steel (Böhler-Uddeholm). It is highly valued for its toughness, wear resistance, and ability to hold an aggressive edge. Due to its high carbon content, we applied a Chemical Bluing (Oxidization) finish. As a result, this provides a durable oxide layer that protects the steel from corrosion and gives the knife its distinctive black luster.
• Signature "Rock Pattern" Texture
  This is a complex, hand-finished treatment applied to the blade surface, bolster, and handle.
  • Uniqueness: Every facet is hand-carved by a master craftsman. In fact, this painstaking process ensures your knife is one of a kind—the pattern never repeats.
  • Control: Beyond aesthetics, the "Rock Pattern" provides a superior tactile experience. Thus, you can feel every groove, ensuring a secure grip and absolute control in any condition.
• The Handle
  We selected Bog Oak, naturally preserved by water over centuries, making it exceptionally stable and moisture-resistant. The transition from the "warm" wood to the "cold" blade is bridged by a brass bolster, which adds the necessary weight for a perfect balance.
• Leather Sheath
  We crafted leather sheath from thick, premium leather with a deep-seated design for maximum protection. The sheath features a belt loop and a stud-fastener (Sam Browne button) for secure retention. So, this simple yet effective system allows for a fast, one-handed draw using only your thumb.

Technical Specifications: The Logic Behind the Design

To summarize, we have moved away from synthetic materials in favor of those with a long lifespan. For example, Bog Oak will not lose its beauty or tactile feel over the years, and our signature heat-treated K110 steel retains its aggressive edge far longer than industry standards.

• Unwavering Strength and Durability
  The BLACK KNIFE’s solid, full-tang construction ensures exceptional strength and reliability. Crafted from 4mm-thick K110 steel, hardened to a Rockwell hardness of 59 HRC, this knife is built to withstand demanding use and harsh environments. The black oxide finish not only enhances the knife’s striking appearance but also provides an additional layer of corrosion protection.
• Straight Bevels for Enhanced Cutting Performance
  The BLACK KNIFE features straight, wide bevels that optimize its cutting capabilities. When striking, these bevels ensure excellent slicing properties, allowing the entire blade to engage with the material without encountering resistance. The added weight of the 4mm-thick spine further enhances the blade’s ability to penetrate materials during dynamic cutting tasks. The result is a deep, clean, delicate, and well-controlled cut.
• Comfortable and Ergonomic Handle
  The BLACK KNIFE’s handle is crafted from bog oak, complemented by a brass bolster, exuding elegance and sophistication. The handle’s ergonomic shape ensures a comfortable and secure grip, even in wet or slippery conditions. The natural texture of the bog oak provides a pleasant tactile experience, making the knife a joy to hold and use.
• Secure and Protective Sheath
  The BLACK KNIFE comes complete with a high-quality genuine leather sheath, offering optimal protection against external elements. The sheath’s secure fastening system ensures the knife remains safely stored while providing easy access when needed.
